Digital Preservation Policy of the FACCEA Journal

Digital Preservation and Permanent Access
The FACCEA Journal ensures the long-term preservation of its content through the following strategies:
-
Automatic Backups:
-
The IT service of the Universidad de la Amazonia performs automatic backups of all journal content every 24 hours. This ensures that published articles are protected against data loss and can be recovered in case of any eventuality.
-
-
Institutional Repository:
-
All articles published in the FACCEA Journal are deposited in the Institutional Repository of the Universidad de la Amazonia, which has a preservation policy that ensures:
-
Integrity and Security: Content is regularly checked to guarantee its integrity, security, and durability.
-
Format Migration: When necessary, content will be transformed into new formats to ensure its accessibility in the future.
-
Software Emulation: In cases where certain formats cannot be migrated, software emulations will be provided to ensure access to the original content.
-
Regular Backups: Periodic backups of all content, including data and metadata, are performed to prevent information loss.
-
-
-
PKP Preservation Network (Public Knowledge Project):
-
The FACCEA Journal is supported by the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a digital preservation system developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). This system uses LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) technology, which offers:
-
Decentralized Preservation: Content is stored on multiple servers around the world, ensuring its permanent availability.
-
Perpetual Access: Readers can access articles without interruptions, even in the long term.
-
Preservation of the Original Version: The authentic version of published articles is preserved, ensuring their authenticity and originality.
-
-
The PKP PN is an open-access and free system, specifically designed for journals that use the Open Journal Systems (OJS), as is the case with the FACCEA Journal. This system is ideal for journals that do not have the resources to join paid preservation services and reinforces our commitment to open access and the democratization of knowledge.

Commitment to Open Access and Preservation
At the FACCEA Journal, we believe in the importance of preserving scientific knowledge for future generations. Our digital preservation policy not only guarantees the security and accessibility of published articles but also reinforces our commitment to the global academic community by providing free and open access to all our content.
We invite authors, readers, and institutions to collaborate with us in this effort to keep scientific production alive and ensure that the knowledge generated by the Faculty of Accounting, Economic, and Administrative Sciences is available to everyone, now and in the future.
