Digital preservation policy of TEACHERS & PEDAGOGY

The journal TEACHERS & PEDAGOGY, published by Universidad de la Amazonia, is committed to guaranteeing digital preservation and Open Access (OA) to all its content. Our journal is available at the following link https://editorial.uniamazonia.edu.co/mpedagogia

Digital Preservation and Permanent Access

The journal TEACHERS & PEDAGOGY ensure long-term preservation of its content through the following strategies:

Automatic Backup:

The informatic service at the Universidad de la Amazonia makes backups of all the content of the journal every 24 hours. This guarantees that published articles are protected against data loss and can be recovered in case of any eventuality.

Institutional Repository:

All articles published in the journal TEACHERS & PEDAGOGY are deposited in the Institutional Repository of the Universidad de la Amazonia, which has a preservation policy that ensures:

Integrity and Security: The content is regularly checked to guarantee its integrity, security, and durability.

Format Migration: When necessary, content will be converted to new formats to ensure its accessibility in the future.

Software Emulation: In case some formats cannot be migrated, software emulation will be provided to ensure access to original content.

Regular Backups: Regular backups are made of all content, including data and metadata, to prevent information loss.

PKP Preservation Network (Public Knowledge Project):

The journal TEACHERS & PEDAGOGY is supported by the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a digital preservation system developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). This system uses the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), technology which offers:

Decentralized Preservation: Contents are stored in multiples servers around the world, which guarantees its permanent availability.

Perpetual Access: Readers can access articles without interruption, including in the long-term.

Preservation of the Original Version: The authentic version of published articles is preserved, ensuring their authenticity and originality.

 

PKP PN is a free and open access system specially designed for journals that use Open Journal Systems (OJS) software, such as the journal TEACHERS & PEDAGOGY. This system is ideal for journals that do not have the resources to integrate into paid preservation services and reinforces our commitment to open access and the democratization of knowledge.
