Interculturalidad Crítica y Materiales de la Enseñanza del Inglés: El caso de docentes y estudiantes de una institución educativa pública

Este artículo presenta un estudio de caso centrado en la interculturalidad crítica y los materiales de enseñanza del inglés (ELT) en una institución educativa pública de Florencia, Caquetá, Colombia. El estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar en qué medida los docentes de inglés integran la interculturalidad crítica en el diseño, la adaptación y el uso de los materiales en la Institución Educativa Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, a partir de las percepciones de docentes y estudiantes, siguiendo un enfoque cualitativo. Los datos se recopilaron mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas a cinco docentes de inglés y una encuesta tipo escala Likert aplicada a sesenta y tres estudiantes de décimo y undécimo grado, y se analizaron utilizando el enfoque de la teoría fundamentada. Los resultados evidenciaron que los materiales de enseñanza del inglés incorporan la interculturalidad crítica en una medida limitada, debido a restricciones relacionadas con el sistema educativo existente. No obstante, la interculturalidad crítica podría integrarse potencialmente en los materiales con un adecuado acompañamiento académico.
